Officer Gipson was hired by the Palmer Police Department in August 2003. He
worked with the Anchorage Airport Police and Fire after retiring from the United
States Air Force in March 2000. He is a Nationally certified Emergency Medical
Technician, completed the Anchorage Fire Academy Fire Fighter I program, and was
the Honor graduate of the 24th session of the Alaska State Trooper
Academy in Sitka, Alaska. He began work on his degree through the University of
Maryland and Community College of the Air Force while in Okinawa, Japan, and
will finalize requirements for a B.A. in Criminal Justice later this year
through Wayland Baptist University. In addition to his duties as a Patrol
Officer; Officer Gipson is trained as a computer forensics investigator and acts
as a Field training Officer, Breath Alcohol Supervisor, and Field Sobriety Test
Instructor.
