INTERNET SAFETY

  1. NEVER give out information about yourself such as your name, address, phone number, parents' work address or phone number, or the name and location of your school without your parents' permission.

  2. NEVER agree to get together with someone you "meet" online without first checking with your parents. If your parents agree to the meeting, be sure that it is in a public place and bring your mother or father along.

  3. NEVER send a person your picture or anything else without first checking with your parents.

  4. NEVER download anything from the Internet without first getting your parents' permission.

  5. NEVER give out your Internet password to anyone (even your best friends) other than your parents.

  6. NEVER answer messages that are mean or make you feel uncomfortable in any way. If you do get a message like that, tell your parents right away so that they can contact the service provider.

  7. NEVER do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.

  8. DO tell your parents right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.

  9. DO talk to your parents so that you can set up rules for going online. Together with your parents, decide upon the time of day that you can be online, and which areas are OK for you to visit. Do NOT access other areas or break these rules without your parents' permission.

  10. DO be a good online citizen.
