The Palmer Police Department is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Sergeant Shayne La Croix from the FBI’s 232nd session of the National Academy. Sgt La Croix’s successful attendance at this prestigious leadership and management institute will be of tremendous benefit to both the department and citizens of Palmer.

On April 29, 2008, ZACHARY MOHS, age 22 of Palmer, reported that a skateboard and an extra board had been stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at an apartment complex, in Palmer. The estimated value of the skateboard and extra board is $150 to $160.
On April 29, 2008, a 14 year old female from Palmer assaulted her 43 year old mother, from Palmer, and her 22 year old sister, from Tacoma, WA. After consulting with the on call Juvenile Probation Officer, the juvenile was lodged at the Mat-Su Youth Facility on three counts of Domestic Violence Assault.
On April 29, 2008, a 15 year old male of Palmer, was contacted for being out of school during school hours. It was determined the male had given a false name the previous day when contacted during another incident. He was released to his parents and a charge of False Report was forwarded to Juvenile Probation.
On April 29, 2008, CHRISTOPHER ACHER, age 18 of Palmer, and a 17 year old female of Palmer, were caught shoplifting at Fred Meyer. ACHER and the female consumed $16.05 worth of food and then left the store without paying for it. ACHER was Summonsed and released for Concealment of Merchandise. The female was released and a charge of Concealment of Merchandise was forwarded to Juvenile Probation.
On April 29, 2008, ROY ARNOLD, age 50 of Wasilla, was stopped for a traffic violation. He was arrested for Driving While License Revoked and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on $2500 bail, per Judge Heath.
On May 1, 2008, a 36 year old mother from Palmer reported her 15 year old son had runaway from home.
On May 1, 2008 GEORGIANN ANVIL, age 33 of Palmer, reported items value at $240.00 stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence.
On May 2, 2008 following a REDDI report officers contacted STEPHEN YORK, age 22 of Anchorage. YORK was arrested for DUI and taken to Mat-Su pretrial where Magistrate Zwink ordered him remanded on $500 bail.
On May 2, 2008, Palmer Police responded to a REDDI report inbound to Palmer on the Old Glenn Hwy. The vehicle was contacted and the driver identified as JASMINE I. STEWART, age 27 of Palmer. STEWART was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. She was also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree as her 4 year old daughter was in the front seat unrestrained and additionally charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Sixth Degree. She was remanded to MSPT in lieu of $2,500 cash bail and a court approved third party per Magistrate Zwink.
On May 2, 2008, an off-duty Palmer Officer recognized a juvenile in the Palmer Fred Meyer’s store and had knowledge the juvenile was trespassed from all Fred Meyer’s property. Palmer Police contacted the juvenile inside a vehicle in the parking lot. A single charge of Trespass in the 2nd degree will be forwarded to the Juvenile Justice center. The juvenile was also cited for Tobacco Possession. During investigation, the driver of the vehicle he had entered, identified as TOMMY ROY BASS, age 31 of Wasilla, was contacted and arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Driving Without a Valid License. He was remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial facility where he was held in lieu of $1,000 bail on the charge of Driving Without a Valid License. He was additionally cited for Proof of Insurance Requirements and Open Alcohol Containers in the vehicle.
On May 2, 2008, JOYCE TREWYN, age 58 of Palmer, reported finding a bicycle in the parking lot of 1012 S. Colony on April 30, 2008. The bicycle was placed in safekeeping at the police department pending location of the owner.
On May 2, 2008, SHAWN H. KENNERSON, age 20 of Palmer, reported his gray 2000 GMC pickup had been damaged while it was parked in the parking lot of the Palmer CARRS/Safeway.
On May 3, 2008 Palmer Police Summonsed WAYNE DEAN RUTHERFORD, age 55 of Wasilla, for No Valid Operators License following a traffic stop for crossing the center line. A subsequent check of out of state records revealed RUTHERFORD’S Washington driver’s license is Revoked. A charge of Driving While License Revoked is being forwarded to the District Attorneys Office.
On May 3, 2008, JOSHUA BORING, age 16 of Palmer, reported his car was involved in a hit and run while it was parked near the Herman Ball Fields. The damage was estimated in excess of $1500.
On May 3, 2008, a 17 year old female of Palmer, was arrested on a $250 warrant for Fail To Appear on the original charge of Minor Consuming Alcohol. She was remanded at Mat-Su Youth Facility.
On May 4, 2008, Palmer Police issued a Summons to ERICK ZOOK, age 21 of Fort Richardson, for Driving While License Revoked. ZOOK was contacted during a traffic stop.
On May 4, 2008 Palmer Police responded to the School Administration Building in Palmer for a report of a damaged window.
On May 4, 2008 ORIETTA BOLDUC, age 60 of Wasilla, reported a white female adult stole her walking cane while she was in the Palmer Fred Meyer parking lot. BOLDUC estimated the cost of the stolen cane at $100.00.
